More About Me
Passionate About Hunger and its Root Causes.
In late 2015, Jonathan and Amanda Lawler began exploring the idea of turning their for profit farm into an organization that donates produce to the feeding the food insecure in their community. They realized the need for such an operation after speaking with numerous organizations in Central Indiana. After investing their personal finances into getting started, Jonathan and Amanda formed Brandywine Creek Farms. 2016 was the first growing season and produced 211 tons of produce or approximately 420,000 pounds. Since that first season Brandywine Creek Farms has distributed over 4 million pounds of locally grown produce.
Our mission is to inject healthy, locally raised food into food deserts across Central Indiana while establishing sustainable food systems in the areas with the most need. Affordable and free produce distributed while creating new farmers, retailers, food service providers with healthy outcomes. With your generous support we can help change the lives of thousands of Hoosiers struggling with food insecurity.
